YAYSOCKPUPPET is the ridiculous pseudonym of Columbus artist, Sharon Dorsey, whose artwork often blurs the line between art/craft and creepy/cute. Sharon uses a blend of traditional craft supplies, found items, sculpting media, and occasionally some dead animal parts to assemble detailed fine art pieces. In addition to creating her signature puppets, plush items, and art doll assemblages, she also likes to create drawings and paintings, customize vinyl toys, and write art and craft tutorials. Even though much of her work makes one want to back away slowly, it often incorporates an intentional uplifting message.

Sharon is a proud member of Mother Artists at Work (MAW), Creative Arts of Women (CAW), Columbus Cow Town Lowbrow, and Columbus Crafty Cotillion. She thinks these groups rule and you should buy all of their stuff.
